Keeping it real since 2014

Hassle-Free Halloween Food

Halloween weekend is upon us! I saw a really cute video for chocolate spider cake pops. 2 minutes into the video, I realized I was NEVER going to make them. While the end result is adorable, I don’t have that kind of time.

Here’s the link if you do want to make them:

I want to make festive themed appropriate food! I’m into Halloween! But… I’m also sort of lazy. And cheap. I don’t want to make anything that’s too ridiculous (meaning no one will eat it) and I don’t want to spend all day cooking. I just want to feed my sweatpants friends (code, best friends) cute food. Here is my menu for a non-pain in the ass Halloween party menu. Links to the recipes are in the titles.

Deviled Eggs

All you have to do is add some devil horns. Boom, Halloween AF.

Meat Platter

Buy meat platter + plastic skeleton (washed of course)

Pumpkin Cheese Ball

Contains no pumpkin. Add the pepper stem from your deviled eggs. Extra points if you get spooky blue tortilla chips.

Spiderweb Guacamole

A little bit of sour cream makes this guacamole go from spicy to spidery. But it’ll still be spicy too. Extra credit for the skull.

Intestines in BLOOD

Well… it’s just cocktail wieners in BBQ sauce. The scary thing is how easy this is to make. And probably what cocktail wieners are made of, but I’d rather not think of that.

Ghoul Punch

All you need is a plastic glove! I mean, that, plus the punch ingredients. Honestly, I might cheat and just use Hawaiian punch. Jaymes would eat the sherbet anyway before I made the punch.

Grave Pudding Pie

Pudding, crust, Oreos: you got yourself a pie! If you’re extra lazy, just use Reese’s Pieces for décor instead of the Milano cookie tombstone.

Salted Caramel Apple Dip

I’m sure you could cute this up with a melon baller, but I’m just going to buy store bought apple slices. See aforementioned laziness.

Happy Almost Halloween!!
